

Today I thought it would be fun to share what a typical day looks like from my point of view. It's been about three months since
I started my new job as a marshmallow maker, recipe tester, and food stylist for
Kerfluffles Marshmallows. (How official does that sound?! I'm feeling so grown up lately. . .) I make and cut about a million marshmallows, package them into adorable boxes (we've actually changed packaging since these pictures were taken— but it's still wonderful!), and help ship them out. I also get to brainstorm flavor ideas, test
flavors of the month, and photograph marshmallows for the website.











It's all still sort of a surreal experience. I always have to pinch myself when people ask me what I do and I can hardly keep from giggling when I start to explain my job to them. I think everyone thinks I am lying! But here's the truth: we've made somewhere around 85,000 marshmallows— and three months ago this little thing called
Kerfluffles didn't even exist. That is SO incredible to me. For the first time in my life, I finally have a rewarding + creative job I can see myself at long term. I can't wait to share more as this chapter of my life unfolds.
Thanks to each and every person reading these words for supporting me and being a part of this— whether you've bought marshmallows, left me an encouraging comment, or just tweeted at me to see how things are going over here. I try to respond to as many comments as I can but if I have missed yours then please just know all of you mean more than you could know!

Those look really good! Have you guys thought about adding a gelatin free version to the line? I know that the vegan companies charge a crazy premium (that I apparently gladly pay) so I suspect there's room for expansion in that market.
ReplyDeletehi there! at this time we have about three vegan recipes developed and time set aside to start testing them this month! i'm really excited to add an animal-friendly marshmallow to our lineup. if you'd like to keep updated on them you can follow kerfluffles on twitter ( twitter.com/KerflufflesTeam ) or i know i'll be posting updates here, too. i'm not sure about the pricing at this point, but as a logical person (and former vegan) i am sure they will be reasonably priced =]
